Applications:

The Moog D661-1705E pilot-operated servo valve is designed for high-power industrial electrohydraulic loops requiring exceptionally fast frequency response and large volumetric flow capacities up to 250 l/min. Featuring an electronic feedback (EFB) system and an analog $\pm$10 VDC voltage command interface, this valve is heavily relied upon for precision closed-loop control of position, velocity, force, and pressure. It is extensively applied in heavy plastic injection and blow molding equipment, metal forming presses, high-tonnage die-casting machinery, automated steel mill rolling positioners, and dynamic structural testing rigs.

Precautions:

1. Pilot Contamination Protection: The precision micro-orifices of the pilot stage are highly vulnerable to particulate silting. Installing an absolute high-pressure, non-bypass filter ($\beta_{10} \ge 75$) directly upstream with a continuous clogging alarm is mandatory.

2. External Drain (Y Port): To shield the valve’s dynamic linearity and null-position stability from return line hydraulic backpressure shocks, connecting an independent external pilot drain (Port Y) is highly recommended.

3. Flushing Protocol: Never route initial system fluid through the valve during commissioning; use a temporary flushing plate to aggressively pre-clean the entire hydraulic loop.
