Applications:

The Moog D661-1715E-4 pilot-operated servo valve is designed for high-power industrial electrohydraulic applications demanding elite dynamic response, substantial volumetric flow capacities (up to 250 l/min), and robust safety parameters. Equipped with a precise electronic feedback (EFB) system and a tailored fail-safe position mechanism (-4), it provides secure closed-loop control of position, velocity, and force. This specific configuration is heavily utilized in die-casting machinery, heavy-duty plastic injection and blow molding equipment, high-tonnage metal stamping presses, automated steel mill rolling positioners, and dynamic aerospace testing platforms.

Precautions:

1. Pilot Contamination Defense: The microscopic fluid paths in the ServoJet pilot stage are highly susceptible to particulate silting. Installing a high-pressure, non-bypass filter ($\beta_{10} \ge 75$) directly upstream with a continuous clogging indicator is mandatory.

2. External Drain Connection: To insulate the valve’s dynamic linearity and null stability from return line backpressure shocks, always hook up an independent external pilot drain (Port Y).

3. Rigorous System Flushing: Never run the initial startup hydraulic fluid through the valve. The entire piping network must be thoroughly purged using a temporary flushing plate prior to mounting the servo valve.
